FLOW SWITCH EARL Type 107 GKL

The small yet reliable EARL type 107 GKL flow switch has been designed for constant operation controlling the flow in pipelines 3/8" to 1" diameter. Further models for 1 1/4" to 2" pipelines are available on request.

The units’ flow sensor is mounted to the body section by a 15 mm compression fitting thus allowing a variety of body sections to be used.

The standard range of body sections available are:

• T-piece with threaded connection 3/8" to 1" BSPF.
• T-piece with compression connection 15 mm to 28 mm.
• Probe type connection with 15 mm compression coupling or 1/2" BSPM thread.

When using the probe type version the user has to fix a BSPF boss on the pipeline. The set point on all units is factory set.

Advantages

Low cost unit due to unique probe type construction. Rugged and reliable. Unit for OEM application. Suitable for contaminated and aggressive media. No service required when used with clean media.

Operation

The entering medium acts upon a small target disc at the base of the lever and displaces it against the force of an internal spring in the direction of flow. A permanent magnet situated at the upper end of the lever actuates an encapsulated switch contact connected to the system tube exterior. The small bearing gap prevents impurities or welding beads from entering the unit.
