Alloy materials for offshore use

Dosch is supplying restriction orifice plates for the construction of Southeast Asia’s biggest oil platform

Tapis R – one of the biggest offshore oil platforms in Southeast Asia – is a key component of the 3.1 billion dollar Tapis Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) project, in which ExxonMobil and its joint venture partner Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd are jointly investing in new oil and gas plants to ensure a reliable supply of energy for Malaysia.

The oil platform has been designed as a large, integrated deck encompassing gas compression and water injection systems, production processing systems, supply systems, and living areas for 145 persons. It was manufactured by Malaysia Marine & Heavy Engineering as part of an order worth USD 434 million that was placed by ExxonMobil in November 2011.

Dosch supplied various restriction orifice plates in the form of multi-bore and/or multistage multi-bore orifice plates for this project. The materials are primarily the high-quality alloys that are needed on oil platforms. We supplied goods with a worth of over €250,000.00 via Sedia.
