Orifice flange

Application

Orifice flanges are flanges specially developed for flow measurement based on the differential pressure principle. The pressures are tapped by means of a bore in the flange located a defined distance either upstream or downstream of the orifice plate. Orifice flanges are supplied completely pre-assembled with screws and gaskets as well as differential pressure tapping.

Designs

Orifice flanges are manufactured in accordance with ASME B 16.36 or DIN 19214 as standard. Different sealing faces and pressure ratings are covered in parts 1-3. Orifice flanges according to ASME B 16.36 are each provided with two ½” NPT tapping holes as standard, which can be closed with sealing plugs. The bores are offset by 180°. Forcing-off screws are used to facilitate mounting of the plug-in orifices after installation of the flanges in the pipeline. Other standards (e.g. NORSOK, JIS) can also be considered. We will also be happy to supply you with the corresponding orifice flanges that you need, which already contain the pressure tapping lines. The patch panels are described in leaflet 91N.
