Wedge meters

Application

Wedge meters are particularly suitable for flow measurement in the case of low Reynolds numbers and fluids containing solids. Their design results in significantly less wear than for orifice plates.

Designs

The pressure tapping fittings are positioned upstream and downstream of the wedge and are usually equipped with flange connections DN 50 (2“) or DN 80 (3“). Primary elements with diaphragm seals are used for differential pressure sensing.

Measurement uncertainty

Depending on use case, the measurement uncertainty is approx. 5% of the flow coefficient.

Orifice flanges

Depending on use case, the measurement uncertainty is approx. 5% of the flow coefficient.
